Moments ago, Tom Cruise made a surprise visit to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con. Guests were watching a panel speak about Terminator: Dark Fate when Conan O’Brien took to the stage. O’Brien presented Tom Cruise who premiered the new trailer for the upcoming Top Gun sequel, Top Gun: Maverick.
Cruise said, “For 34 years you guys have been very patient with me, and I felt it was my responsibility for me to deliver for you”, and called the film “a love letter to aviation.” He also unveiled the official poster of Top Gun: Maverick. So far we know the film will be about Maverick (Cruise) mentoring the son played by Miles Teller (Whiplash) of his late co-pilot Goose (Anthony Edwards). The cast includes Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind), Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Ed Harris (West World). Val Kilmer will also return to the film as his previous character ‘Iceman.’
Top Gun: Maverick is slated for release in 2020.
