If you’re a wrestling fan that happens to live in Southern California, get down to the Staples Center on Oct. 4th! The Staples Center will not only be the stage for the WWE SmackDown premiere on Fox, but it also marks the 20th Anniversary of Smackdown. This will be the first episode aired on FOX since it’s recent acquisition of “Smackdown”. Fox will continue air the show on Fridays instead of Tuesdays.
The highly anticipated show promises appearances by fan favorites Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Trish Stratus, Goldberg, Jerry Lawler, Mark Henry, and Sting.
The most recent talent to confirm their involvement is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Johnson sent the following tweet yesterday:
FINALLY…I come back home to my @WWE universe.
This FRIDAY NIGHT, I’ll return for our debut of SMACKDOWN!
LIVE on @FOXTV.
There’s no greater title than #thepeopleschamp.
And there’s no place like home.

- Brock Lesner vs. WWE Champion Kofi Kingston
- Roman Reigns vs. Erick Rowan
- Kevin Owens vs Shane McMahon
- RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs. Smackdown’s Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks.
Since it’s Hispanic Heritage Month and MUSE, of course, celebrates Hispanic Heritage every day of the year, we have to mention our favorite WWE wrestler, who we hope will make an appearance on Oct. 4th, Kalisto! Kalisto along with Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado form The Lucha House Party. Kalisto has always brought a new level of excitement to the WWE with his high flying maneuvers, incredible energy, and chants of Lucha! Lucha! But there are so many other things that make us admire him even more.
Kalisto has called the masks religion, and they truly are. The masks are a sacred thing. The Aztec warriors wore masks. Not only do the masks embody each luchador’s identity, but also Hispanic history, tradition, and legacy. When Kalisto chants Lucha! Lucha! with his fans, it’s not just a rallying cry, but a way of bringing Hispanic culture to America and across the world. Having faced adversary & severe injuries himself, Kalisto has always strived to inspire and motivate others. And he truly does not only for his insanely impressive athletic abilities but more importantly his for his character and integrity. Follow Kalisto on Twitter: @KalistoWWE
