MUSE TV & Culturally Obsessed’s Jennifer Ortega was at the premiere of National Geographic’s new documentary Sea of Shadows. Sea of Shadows follows a team of dedicated scientists, high-tech conservationists, investigative journalists, and courageous undercover agents as well as the Mexican Navy as they put their lives on the line to save the last remaining vaquitas and bring the vicious international crime syndicate to justice.
MUSE talked to the subjects of the film Jack Hutton and Andrea Crosta. Jack Hutton, a marine conservationist, is part of the organization Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS). The SSCS takes direct action to protect marine wildlife. In the documentary, the SSCS come head to head with poachers as they remove illegal nets in the Sea of Cortez. Andrea Crosta is the co-founder of Earth League International, an innovative nonprofit organization that merges the worlds of intelligence and conservation in service of wildlife, oceans, forests, and the people who protect them.
MUSE also spoke to director Richard Ladkani, legendary conservationist Jane Goodall, Heal the Bay CEO Shelley Luce and many more. Sea of Shadows is now playing in select theaters.
