El Cine was founded by Mariana Da Silva. After moving to Los Angeles, Mariana realized that the roles she was asked to portray as a Latina were inaccurate. El Cine, a 501-C3 organization, promotes Latin culture through film. The Bob Baker Marionette Theater is Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #958. With over 300 performances a year, utilizing over 2000 handcrafted puppets, the Theater caters to birthday parties, school groups, weddings, and community functions of all sorts.
