The Latin Grammy nominations are out and Alex Anwandter is nominated this year for his fourth critically acclaimed full-length solo album “Latinoamericana.”
The Nomination is for “Best Alternative Music Album.” This album is Anwandter’s most concept-driven. Catching the attention of both national and international media outlets since its release last October. The album contains 11 songs like “Locura” and “Axis Mundi” which became part of his discography. The songs touch on social and political issues.
He’s currently touring his home-land Chile and will be in Argentina throughout the month of October. He’ll be heading to Las Vegas in November to celebrate and attend the Latin Grammy Awards ceremony.
Anwandter not only has a magical touch in music but in film as well. He received the Premio Maquey Queer Icon at the 34th annual Guadalajara International Film Festival. The award is given to personalities that are an emblem of diverse and transgressive culture, and key figures of a free and open sexual culture.
