Foo Fighters’ fans were overjoyed when the band announced a concert at Madison Square Garden and then a surprise show in Agoura Hills, CA at the Canyon Club. But many fans’ joy turned to disappointment when it was announced that all Foo Fighters concerts would require proof of vaccination. The Ticketmaster webpage for the Madison Square Garden show reads, “Guests must have proof of full COVID-19 vaccination – Final Dose 14 Days Before Event. For more information visit www.msg.com/faqs. Because of overwhelming demand for these events, in order to accommodate as many guests as possible, Madison Square Garden is complying with New York State mandates that require all guests to be fully vaccinated in such circumstances.”

Recent ads for Foo Fighters show in Los Angeles featured a vaccination needle.

The recent Los Angeles show at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills on June 15th also required proof of vaccination. Concert guests had to show proof of vaccination in order to pick up their nontransferable tickets. There is no current California mandate that requires guests to be vaccinated. Many fans took to Twitter to share there their anger about the vaccination requirement.

Protestors including actor, Ricky Schroder showed up to protest last Tuesday’s show at the Canyon Club. Protestors carried signs that read, “Foo Fighters fight to bring segregation back.” On Facebook Schroder posted about the concert’s vaccine requirement, “Dave Grohl is an ignorant punk who needs to be slapped for supporting Discrimination. Ignorance comes in all shapes & sizes. Kurt Cobain is laughing at you Dave along with Millions of Patriots….Fool.” A sign recently appeared on a busy overpass on Los Feliz Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA reading, “FOO FIGHTERS ARE A ROCK N ROLL DISGRACE”.

Foo Fighters’ record label have not yet responded about the backlash.
