Recently, Culturally Obsessed’s Jennifer Ortega talked with director Victor Neumark and actors Rachel Alig, Ryan Caraway, and Kate Beecroft, about their film FIRST BLUSH. FIRST BLUSH stars Rachel Alig and Ryan Caraway as Nena & Drew, a young and mostly happy couple. On the night of her 30th birthday, Nena isn’t particularly having a great time at her own surprise party. But her night brightens up when she meets and immediately jives with Olivia (Kate Beecroft). Soon the duo of Nena and Drew becomes a trio when they explore a polyamorous relationship with Olivia. Usually Hollywood turns any film about a threesome turns into a sex charged romp. Neumark never falls into this trap with FIRST BLUSH. Instead Neumark gives us a romantic comedy that explores the boundaries of relationships.
FIRST BLUSH will be available on February 2nd on digital platforms, including Vudu, Comcast, Spectrum, and Cox.

Synopsis: Nena and Drew are a young, happy-ish married couple whose relationship is thrown off its axis when they meet Olivia. The trio’s attraction to each other is undeniable, but when they become romantically involved, they struggle to navigate the complications of a polyamorous relationship. The three push each other’s boundaries to their limits as they discover painful truths about who they are, what they want, and how to love in turbulent times. In turns both hilarious and heartbreaking, the film tenderly explores the anxieties that shape a generation and celebrates the bravery that it takes to make genuine connections. First Blush is a poignantly relatable film about a uniquely complex relationship; a fresh, modern love story that challenges us to re-examine the rules and expectations that define us. With potent writing, sharp direction, and breakout lead performances, the film is an electric piece of work, and not to be missed.
